I thought it would be high school (okay I was hoping it would at least be past junior high) when I could no longer help the kids with their homework. Andrew comes home with "key words" he is supposed to learn that Paul and I had to look up in the dictionary because we didn't think they were actual words (they are). Nathan came home yesterday with a homework questions he got wrong on math. It was wrong because he didn't pick the right 'shape' out of four choices to depict which one was congruent to the top picture. I looked that up in the dictionary. I love when they use the word you are trying to look up in the definition of the word. Yeah that helps. Anyway the deductive reasoning it means —roughly, the same size and shape. Well they are all roughly the same size and shape - He picked the one I would have, the other was possibly closer - but it was rotated - does that matter? It's still the same shape, just on it's side, a triangle is a triangle. I had A's in geometry, really I don't use it anymore, except to not be helpful with my kids....remind me why did we have to take it again?
p.s. Andrew has his first wiggly tooth, boy is he excited.
