Sports and more Sports

We had friends that were able to get us tickets to the Bees game on Friday night. A group of twenty of us went, kids out numbered adults. I'm not fond of baseball. I figured the kids would have a blast and went to be with friends. My friend who got us the tickets isn't fond of it either. Which is ironic. I knew that because of this the game would go over. It had four extra innings. The Bees won. But, by that time I no longer cared, not that I did much to begin with. The fans that were with us no longer cared. There was at least a really cool firework show after which was the main reason for staying. We didn't end up getting home until midnight. Then Saturday my company held their summer party at Rio Tinto stadium and we watched a Real Salt Lake Soccer game. It didn't start until 8:00 - the kids bed time. I'm not that into soccer either. I couldn't tell you who won. For all you American Idol fans - David Archuleta sang the anthem and did a mini concert after. I've never watched American Idol. I'm sure it seems like such a waste for me to have gone to these events, but there is an up side to sports. Unlike movies, you can talk through them. I had a good time talking to friend and at the company party was able to talk to a coworker that I've worked with for a long time but never really gotten to know and always wanted to. The kids had fun at all the events and for as messed up as their schedules are, don't seem overly grouchy from sleep deprivation, at least not yet. We also managed to squeeze in a picnic and playing at the park, dinner with our friends (and they are awesome cooks) and a movie with popcorn at home this weekend.
