My trick is keeping little boys cars identifyable so that I don't have to hear the "mine" argument. Any new hot wheels cars get a dot of nail polish on the bottom. I even have my own set of cars so I can share with friends that come over. Oldest son has burgandy, youngest has hot pink, and I have peach dots on mine.
Great idea! My children are pre-teens now and still want their identical items clearly marked.
