Color Guard

Nathan has enjoyed being in Cub Scouts. He loves earning belt loops and pins. This past Sunday all the age groups greeted church members at the door and then presented the color guard during a flag ceremony. At the end of the month he will graduate from a Wolf to a Bear.

Puppets

Last Thursday one of the local libraries had an open house to come make puppets. The kids decided they wanted finger puppets and left the sock rolled up to stick their fingers in. Gotta say they are the only ones that came up with that idea. They remind me of Halloween with the colors they choose. I think they look like a ghost and something Halloweenish....I made more of a traditional one.

sled day

My friend Nat took these pictures of the kids the day our families went sledding together about a week ago - umh maybe two. I think she was a professional photographer in a previous life.

January poem

Andrew learns a new poem at school every month. This month is:

A chubby little snowman
had a carrot for a nose
along came a bunny
and what do you suppose
that hungry little bunny
looking for some lunch
ate that snowman's nose
with a nibble nibble crunch.

This is his picture to go with it. The bunny is soooo cute! (the white poof in the lower right corner -two ears on top, four legs and a cotton tail).

The worlds worst snowman

I decided I could probably do the stay at home mom thing... and I know why stay at home moms say they are never home. We went to the dinosaur museum, a 3-D dinosaur IMAX movie, the aquarium, a New Years Eve party, sledding, had a snowball fight,

went to grandmas to make shrinky dinks, played with modeling clay one day and made plaster molds on another, went for a bike ride (it's been really nice out considering it's winter) and made the worlds worst snowman. No surprise when you figure in that I've never made a snowman in my life and I had in-experienced help, but it was fun. And I finally got a picture of the gaps. Shhh, don't tell him I posted it :)

Happy New Year!
